RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, is offered to those wishing to enter the Catholic Church through the Easter Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Formation in the Christian life is a Lectionary based catechesis, opening to the Candidates the living Word of God and Discipleship. Christian Sponsors are also welcome to journey with our candidates.

Follow these steps to apply:
1) Make an appointment to meet with Fr. Joey (pastor).
2)You will need to fill out application.
3) Submit application, with Sacramental certificates, and copy of birth certificate to office staff.
4) Sponsor certificate copies
Please note: There are certain requirements for Sponsors/Godparents:

Please note: There are certain requirements for Sponsors/Godparents:
Needed from Godparent/Sponsor:
- The canonical requirements (Canon Law #872-874): for godparents for Baptism and sponsors for Confirmation are the following:
- A Sponsor/Godparent must be at least sixteen years of age
- may not be one of the parents of the child/youth
- Be fully initiated into the faith (i.e. has received the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist).
- Must regularly practice the faith by attending Catholic Mass and receiving the Sacraments.
- Must be in good standing with the Catholic Church (i.e., not in intimate relationships outside of marriage, receives Sacraments of Confession and Eucharist regularly, etc.)
- If married, must be married in the Catholic Church or in another Church, with permission and a dispensation.
- Copy of their Certificates of Initiation, that is Baptism, 1st Communion, and Confirmation (if single); and if married, a Copy of their Catholic Marriage Certificate from the church of Marriage (if married)
- Letter from their pastor stating they have permission to be a Godparent/Sponsor and are in good standing with the Catholic Church. The church seal should also be on the pastor letter.
