Personal Holy Hours
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish offers a weekly community Holy Hour of Adoration, and personal Holy Hours daily. Jesus said, "Come to Me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you." (Mt 11:28) There is no better place to lay your burdens down than before His Divine Presence on the altar.
What happens during Holy Hour?
Immediately after the 9:00 AM English Mass, we begin our Holy Hour of Adoration. We pray together the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and the sacred liturgy of Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. The remainder of the Holy Hour we spend in silent, personal communion with our Lord on the altar before us.
Why spend an hour each week before the Blessed Sacrament?
In the garden at Gethsemene, the night before he died, Jesus asked his sleeping disciples, “Could you not watch one hour with me?” (MT 26:40) He asks the same question of us today. Wake up to God’s call! Give Him an hour of your precious time each week and He will shower you and those for whom you pray with abundant blessings.
