  • What Does a Letter to the Bishop Look Like?
Confirmation clothing:  White is the color of choice connecting our Confirmation with our Baptism.  Modest clothing is appropriate: shoulders covered, knee-length dresses, slacks with button-up shirts and ties.  Please, no mid-drift tops, sandals, or clothes with glitter.  Thank you.    
DAY OF REFLECTION: 10am-12pm
28 February 2026
(Park in the large parking lot, enter Community Room through the side door.) 

1) It is mandatory for teens and parents

2) There are activities for both the teens and parents (and sponsors).

3) Teens will be writing a letter to Bishop Ramon.

4) Parents will be writing and giving their teens an inspirational letter.

Parents, thank you for showing your teens by coming to this Day of Reflection, that you want and support your teen in their journey of faith as they prepare for their Confirmation. 

Parents are expected on this special day of preparation.

Confirmation Mass:

  11:30 Bilingual Mass

There is a reception for all students and families immediately after Mass.  *Teens are expected to stay.  
**Teens have catechism on
Sunday, March 22 and will receive their Confirmation certificates then. 


Confirmation Confessions and  Confirmation Day of Reflection are mandatory.  Parents are required to attend the Day of Reflection on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

NOTE: The Diocese has indicted that we should plan for the Confirmations to take place at the
Bilingual Confirmation Mass 
Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 11:30.

-Act of Contrition / Acto de Contricion
What Does a Letter to the Bishop Look Like?

GREETING
Begin your letter with the greeting – Your Excellency

BODY OF LETTER
Paragraph 1-- Introduce yourself. Say something about your family, your education and your parish
Paragraph 2-- Request the sacrament. Give several reasons why you would like to be confirmed
Paragraph 3-- Explain how you have prepared for the sacrament. It is important that you tell about specific
parts of your preparation: your prayer life, your celebration of the other sacraments, your service hours,
your sponsor’s name and why you chose them and/or your saint’s name and why you chose it.
Paragraph 4 --Tell what difficulties young people today face and how you will continue to carry out your
life of service to God and others through the power of the Holy Spirit. Tell how you plan to make your
Confirmation in the Faith real and alive in your life.


CONCLUSION
Conclude the letter and include your complete signature


There is no “right” way to write this letter. Everyone’s will be different, as each of you have had a different experience. Most importantly is should be your own work and a personal reflection of your spiritual journey.
