1st Communion (English & Spanish)
     1) The Pflaum Gospel Weeklies and supplemental page are being mailed to families. 
          Parents should help their students read through them and have children answer the questions.
     2) Your child should do the activity on the front page.  
     3) Parents should use their cell phone for the QR code on page 4 to work with their children.
     4) Parents should also pray with their children every night.  Please see pg 4 for Prayer in the Family.

     2) The Class continued to get to know each other.
     3) Discussion on Forgiveness based on Mt 18:21-35
          a) Student learners should read the Scripture passage.
          b) Student learners should write/text/email their own explanation of what is happening in this Scripture passage, or
               they may create their own parable to help explain forgiveness in the Kingdom of God.
          c) Homework should be given to Heather so that it can be counted toward attendance.  Thank you.

     2) Parents should read the Gospel with the children. 
          Then when discussing the Gospel reading, the kids can do the pages.
     3) Take a photo of the completed activity sheets and send them to Catechist Heather.

Today an email & text reminder was sent to families to remind them about the our VIRTUS weekend this Sunday and also the change of time for Confirmation and Spanish Catechism Classes.  ​

PARENT MEETING August 17th, 6:30pm in the Community Room

All parents of Catechism students (1st Communion English & Spanish, Confirmation) should attend this informational meeting.  
We will discuss:
     --Parents as the primary educators of our Faith
     --Children's service at the parish especially altar serving at Mass and parish Festival
     --Type of Curriculum that we will use, both have online component for parents; Confirmation will have books for 
        Sponsors and Parents not just Confirmands.
     --Possibility of having parents buy their children their own albs for serving at Mass and investiture for those who are
        able to learn the names of liturgical items and lead others in serving.
     --General calendar follows scholastic year.

A competed catechism application includes/ Una solicitud de catecismo incluye:
     1) Registration Application / Forma para catecismo de los Niños/Jóvenes 
     2) Certificate Copies (Sacramental & Birth)/Copias de Certificados (sacramental y de nacimiento)
     3)Godparent Sacramental certificates & approval letter from their pastor (2nd Yr Confirmation students only.)/
             Certificados de sacramentos de los padrinos y carta de su Sacerdote  (solo para de segundo año de confirmación).
     4) Diocesan waiver & Photo release form/ Hoja dando permiso para Fotos, Video, etc y Información Médica.
     5) Donation to cover book cost/  Donación para covrir el costo de los libros.

If your child received Sacraments at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, you will still need to provide a copy.  If you need to order one, please use the link here.  It is usually a 2 week process.

Completed applications may be brought to the parish office during office hours or to your child's current catechism class.  

***If you have moved from Los Osos, our office can give your new parish in your new town a letter so that you may continue your child's catechism there. 

For Apple Computer users:
We have learned that to submit off an Apple, if registering electronically, you may need to take a screenshot of the completed form(s) and then attach them as a photo to your email if and only if you are having difficulty with 'empty' forms in emails that you have tried to send when registering your child/ren.   ​
